King Nebuchadnezzar Symbolism

King Nebuchadnezzar, an Old Testament figure that was a great Babylonian king, demanded that his dreams be interpreted by the magicians and wise men of his time. None of these men could interpret his dream. Only Daniel, a servant of God, was capable of interpreting his dream.

It is interesting that in the films we find the Nebuchadnezzar hovercraft searching for a Messianic savior who can liberate people from the dream world. It is as if the reference to Nebuchadnezzar symbolizes that only God can reveal the reality of what is hidden from us. Hence it is Morpheus, the captain of the Nebuchadnezzer who reveals what is hidden to his crew and Neo. Neo also goes on to reveal what is hidden to many.

Someone recently also made me aware that Morpheus is able to be reached inside the Matrix by calling the Daniel Institute of Dreams (according to Enter the Matrix).

I must add that there is much more that can probably be dissected from the reference to the Nebuchadnezzar. Hopefully this tidbit is interesting and informative.

This is interesting. I am going to research this some more. I knew the name Nebuchadnezzar had to mean something but I wasn't sure what.

Thanks.
